Lavender Chai Coffee Creamer

Published on Recipes

In our opinion, lavender is underestimated as a culinary herb. With cilantro, parsley, basil and rosemary typically in the front line, lavender oftentimes gets left out on the sidelines, usually for the simple reason that its just misunderstood.

We put a bit of creative energy into this aromatic herb and came out with a flavor pairing that is really to die for! The richness and depth of coffee paired with the floral notes of lavender and warming spices in this delicious, slightly sweet (and completely healthy) creamer is really delicious, adding a unique flavor to your morning cup of joe!

Lavender Chai Coffee Creamer
Makes about 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut milk (from a can, not carton)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp lavender buds
  • Pinch of clove

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients together in a blender or with a whisk. Allow creamer to sit so the flavors can meld together nicely for about 4-12 hours.
  2. Strain creamer through a fine mesh strainer to extract lavender buds and any grainy spice residue.
  3. Enjoy with your coffee - or tea!
