Nick and I started From the Farmer with one purpose - using food to connect people and create community. Over the past six years we’ve made hundreds of thousands of deliveries and brought millions of pounds of local food into homes like yours throughout the DC metro area.
During this time we’ve seen lots of changes in the way folks, including ourselves, cook and eat food at home. We’ve seen Instacart bring Whole Foods online and into your homes in a matter of hours. We’ve seen Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, and others bring meal kits mainstream. And we’ve seen Postmates, Caviar, and more bring many of the regions best restaurants right to your table with delivery in less than hour.
Many of you have shared with us that you love your From the Farmer box, but you’re often left with some items you just don’t have the time or the knowledge to learn how to use! Someone even told us that in the Winter they feel like their countertop becomes a winter squash ‘museum’. We’ve heard you. That’s why we partnered with the fine folks at SuperFd to create the From the Farmer Supper Club.
This Fall we’re launching the Supper Club to make eating farm-fresh local food at home even easier. We’ll take a couple items from our Small Farm Box (we plan to support other boxes in the future) and pair it with proteins, grains, sauces, and more (all expertly made by Chef Robert Wood and his team) that will give you everything you need to make a farm fresh dinner in thirty-minutes or less! We hope our Supper Club will make enjoying your Farm Box and eating at home convenient, healthy, and exciting as you try new flavors like Ropa Vieja (Cuba’s national dish) and Chesapeake Catfish Curry (a Goan style curry with the mid-Atlantics most sustainable fish).
