After working in numerous restaurants, brother Yi Wah and his sister Caitlin decided to offer food to the DC area in their own way by bringing homemade fermented foods to the table. This Chinese-Irish family chose the name Number One Sons as an ode to the cherished first born son in Chinese culture - the one to whom everything is given, yet everything is expected in return. Number One Sons does just that by bringing flavor, freshness and quality together in each product. Inspired by seasonality and vegetables grown along the East coast, Number One Sons offers pickles, kraut, kimchi and kombucha to bring healthy, probiotic-rich foods to life with traditional methods and their unique recipes.
