Stephanie Murray and James Price founded Ula Tortilla after searching out the perfect, fresh, local tortilla and coming up empty handed. Ula Tortillas are made using certified organic, non gmo corn. They use an ancient process called nixtamalization to produce the most nutritious and delicious tortillas around. This process involves cooking and soaking the corn in a solution of lime (calcium hydroxide) and water overnight. The corn is then ground in a stone grinder which produces masa to make dough for tortillas and coconut oil fried tortilla chips.
